Ingenuity in action

Over the weekend, I was fortunate enough to be able to help my friends gather up some items to bring back to their cousin who’s relocated from Richmond to Charlotte. Among the precious items was a pink rug that had been newly cleaned and rolled.

The request to my friend was simple.

Cousin: “There’s a rolled rug in the upstairs bedroom. I’d love to have it if you could bring it back.”

Friend: “Of course. No problem.”

Once we walked into the room, though, our eyes bugged. The rug was at least a 10’x12’. Rolled up, it dominated the floor in the bedroom.

It. Was. Massive. And because their SUV was already packed tight, it had to fit into a Nissan Altima.

Friend: “Of course.”

Lesson for the day. Never doubt people who have the will and fortitude to make things work. With some strategic placements and a lot of elbow grease, we fit that car-sized rug into that Nissan.

No problem.
